FAQ

Frequently asked questions about sea freight

How do I get a sea freight quote?

Tell us the volume, weight and destination port through our instant quote platform. We recommend FCL or LCL based on your volume and come back with the available sailing options and rates.

How long does sea freight take?

Intra-European short-sea routes take roughly a few days to a week, while intercontinental crossings range from 2 to 6 weeks depending on the route and shipping line. We confirm the ETA at booking and keep you updated throughout the voyage.

Which container types and cargo do you cover?

We work with standard 20-foot and 40-foot containers, reefer containers for temperature-controlled goods and solutions for uncontainerized cargo. We cover anything from a few pallets in LCL consolidation to regular full-container flows.

How do I track my container and what documents do I receive?

You track the container in real time through systems integrated with our partner shipping lines. We manage the bill of lading, certificates of origin, export and import customs clearance, plus marine insurance tailored to your cargo value.

What is the difference between FCL and LCL, and which suits me?

FCL gives you an entire container dedicated to your cargo — best for larger volumes, with faster transit and minimal handling. LCL means paying only for the space you use in a consolidated container — efficient for smaller volumes. We analyze your shipment and recommend the option with the best cost-to-time ratio.

When should I choose FCL and when LCL?

FCL (a dedicated 20', 40' or 40' HC container) is recommended for large volumes or sensitive goods. LCL (sea groupage, charged per cubic metre) becomes cost-effective below roughly 15 m³. LCL adds 3-7 days for consolidation and deconsolidation.

What is the capacity of a standard sea container?

A standard 40' container offers 12.03 m × 2.35 m × 2.39 m and takes up to 26.8 tonnes; the High Cube variant adds ~30 cm of height. For special cargo we use Open Top, Flat Rack (up to 40 t) or temperature-controlled Reefer containers.

How long does sea freight from China to Europe take?

Standard 28-40 days port-to-port (Shanghai/Ningbo/Shenzhen to Constanța, Hamburg, Rotterdam or Antwerp), with an express option of 22-25 days. For transatlantic routes: US East Coast 25-40 days, West Coast 35-50 days.
