One point of contact for project transports

Project cargo means freight that does not fit the usual patterns: factory equipment, turbines, transformers, plant modules. Each comes with its own limits on dimensions, weight and handling.

We coordinate the whole chain — route survey, permits, escort, cranes, road, rail or sea legs — with a single project manager who owns the result. We do not split the move between suppliers who never talk to each other.

What we cover

What a project transport includes

From transport engineering to the final lift at destination.

Feasibility study

We assess dimensions, mass and lifting points, then confirm whether the route is viable and with which vehicles.

Route survey

We check bridges, viaducts, roundabouts and overhead lines along the whole route, with on-site reconnaissance where needed.

Permits and escort

We obtain the special movement permits and arrange escort, including police escort where the law requires it.

Purpose-matched vehicles

Modular trailers, semi-lowbeds, extendable platforms and additional-axle setups, chosen for the actual load.

Coordinated multimodal

We combine road, rail and sea when one mode is not enough, with transfers planned well in advance.

Dedicated project manager

A single contact across all stages, with progress reporting and fast decisions.

Project Cargo & Freight Forwarding

Why choose us as your project cargo partner

Three things you get whatever the size of the project.

Dedicated project cargo management
Every industrial project transport gets a dedicated coordinator: route survey, permits, equipment and deadlines, from the first contact through to delivery.
Specialist freight forwarder
As a forwarder for special projects and abnormal loads, we handle permits, approvals, escorts, insurance and international forwarding in every country crossed.
Integrated logistics solutions (3PL)
From specialist flatbed and lowbed transport to heavy lift and urgent freight — integrated logistics solutions for complex industrial projects.

How we work

The process of a special transport project

Every project is unique, but the road from enquiry to delivery follows the same five steps.

  1. 01

    Request a quote

You send us the equipment specifications and the route you need.

  2. 02

    Survey and permits

We study the route and obtain the permits for every country crossed.

  3. 03

    Equipment coordination

We allocate the right trailer and, where needed, the escorts, through our partner network.

  4. 04

    Execution and tracking

We monitor the transport step by step, in real time.

  5. 05

    Delivery and report

Delivery to the erection point and a final project report.

Industries served

We provide special transport, project cargo, abnormal load and heavy haulage for the most demanding industries.

Fleet and equipment

Our fleet of specialist trailers

From flatbed platforms and lowbed trailers to multi-axle modular assemblies and SPMT — we pick the right equipment for special, abnormal load and heavy haulage transport.

The loads are indicative: the real figure depends on the mass distribution across the axles, the route restrictions and the permit obtained. We settle the final configuration after the route survey, through our partner network.

Advantages

Why choose Load Your Cargo for project cargo and special transport

The difference is not the size of the truck, but how much of the project is our responsibility before the cargo moves at all.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions about special transport and project cargo

Special transport and project cargo call for planning, permits and dedicated equipment. Here are the answers to the questions that matter most.

What is project cargo and how does it differ from ordinary abnormal load transport?

Project cargo means managing a complex transport project, usually multi-piece and/or multimodal, for high-value industrial equipment, with transport engineering, a route survey, permits and end-to-end coordination from the factory to the erection point. Unlike ordinary abnormal load transport, which is a single special run, project cargo involves dedicated project management and the synchronisation of several operations.

Do you offer a turnkey (door-to-door) solution, including cranes and unloading on site?

Yes. We coordinate the whole chain: road, sea or rail transport, the lifting operations with cranes, the permits, the escorts and delivery to the erection point on site, all through a single point of contact. That includes unloading and positioning the equipment where there is no handling infrastructure.

Who coordinates the route survey, the approvals and the bridge checks?

We do. We run the route survey — analysing the capacity of bridges, roundabouts, gradients and the height of overhead utilities — obtain the technical approvals and draw up the transport plan through a certified professional. That way the route is proven feasible and legal before the equipment actually moves.

How far in advance should I contact you about a complex project?

For complex projects we recommend contacting us 6-8 weeks ahead, or longer for machinery coming in from abroad, which is the time needed for permits, the route survey, booking the special equipment and coordinating the cranes. The earlier we are involved, ideally at the design or procurement stage, the more efficient and economical the planning becomes.

How is the cost of project cargo calculated and what does the quote include?

The quote is built as a package and can include the transport itself, across one or more modes, the permits and approvals, the escorts, the lifting and handling operations, the insurance and any temporary infrastructure works along the route. The cost varies with dimensions, weight, route and complexity, which is why every project gets an individual quote, transparent by component.

Which industries do you provide project cargo for?

We provide project cargo for renewable energy (wind and solar), oil and gas, construction and infrastructure, conventional energy, mining and steel, aviation and defence, marine and shipbuilding, the chemical industry, rail, manufacturing and agriculture.
