How we operate in modular construction

The transport partner for prefabricated module manufacturers

Modular construction brings a challenge of its own: the pieces are not necessarily very heavy, but they are bulky, and a complete project can require dozens of modules delivered in a precise sequence.

Through our network of verified partners we coordinate the transport of prefabricated modules and synchronise the multiple deliveries, so the erection crew on site receives each piece in exactly the order of assembly.

How we work

Why choose us for modular construction

Three things that keep the erection moving.

  1. 01

    Synchronising multiple deliveries

For projects with dozens of modules, we coordinate the delivery sequence according to the erection order on site.

  2. 02

    Transport for bulky pieces

Through the partner network we choose the right trailer for large modules, even when they are not necessarily very heavy.

  3. 03

Coordination with the manufacturer and the site

We align both with the factory's production schedule and with the site's erection schedule.

What we carry

What we carry for modular construction

Modules and prefabricated structures, delivered individually or in synchronised series.

Volumetric modules
Transport of complete modules, ready for assembly on site.
Mobile homes and cabins
Coordination for prefabricated residential or industrial structures.
Prefabricated structures
Transport of structural components for mixed modular projects.
Modular site offices
Transport of office containers and administrative modules for construction sites.
Sanitary and utility modules
Transport of sanitary and utility modules for modular projects.

The specific challenge

Serial delivery: the real challenge of modular construction

A large modular project can require 20, 50 or even more modules, each of which has to reach the site in the exact order in which it will be assembled. A disordered delivery can hold up the entire erection process.

Through the partners in our network we coordinate a delivery schedule that takes account both of the module factory's production rate and of the erection capacity of the crew on site.

Frequently asked questions

Modular construction: frequently asked questions

Modules are bulkier than they are heavy, and the delivery order matters more than speed. Here is what you need to know.

Who handles the abnormal load permits and the route survey for prefabricated modules?

We handle the whole process: through our network of verified partners we obtain the abnormal load permits in every country crossed and run the route survey. It checks the clearances along the route, bridges, roundabouts, crossings and overhead cables, so that the modules reach the site without surprises. You get a single point of contact, the dedicated project manager.

How are oversized prefabricated modules, very wide or very tall, transported?

Volumetric modules frequently exceed the standard width or height, so we treat them as abnormal loads, with special permits and, where relevant, pilot vehicles and daytime travel restrictions. Depending on the dimensions, through the partner network we choose the right trailer and plan the route so that the clearances are respected along the whole way. Every project starts from the exact dimensions you give us.

Is a crane needed to unload the modules on site?

Often yes, and large volumetric modules, technical cabins or modular homes are lifted off the trailer by crane straight onto the foundation or the erection position. We coordinate the arrival of the trucks with the availability of the crane and with the erection crew, so that unloading is synchronised and without idle time. Tell us whether you have a crane on site or whether it has to be included in the transport arrangements.

What type of trailer is used to transport prefabricated modules?

We choose the trailer according to the dimensions and the weight of the module, not just the tonnage, because the pieces are usually bulkier than they are heavy. Through the partner network we can provide low platforms, extendable trailers or special semi-trailers for wide and tall pieces. The specific recommendation comes once we have analysed the length, width, height and weight of each module.

Do you carry modular containers, technical cabins and fully assembled modular homes?

Yes, we coordinate the transport of modular containers, technical cabins, site offices and modular homes delivered fully assembled, individually or in synchronised series. For fully assembled structures we establish the dimensions, the trailer type and the unloading method in advance, so the module arrives intact and ready for erection. We coordinate the delivery both for manufacturers and for private clients.

Do you deliver the modules door-to-door, straight from the factory to the site?

Yes, we organise door-to-door transport, from the module factory straight to the erection site. We synchronise the collection with the production rate and the delivery with the assembly order on site, and all transports come with CMR insurance included. Send us the specifications and the erection schedule, and we will prepare the project quote.
