How we operate in agriculture

The transport partner for large farms and agricultural machinery dealers

Heavy agricultural machinery, from combines and high-power tractors through to irrigation equipment, often has a tight delivery window, tied directly to the harvest or sowing season.

Through our network of verified partners we coordinate the transport of this machinery on domestic and international routes, with attention to the seasonal deadlines and to access on rural roads.

How we work

Why choose us for agriculture

Three things that decide on-time delivery.

  1. 01

Delivery synchronised to the farming season

We plan the transport so the machine arrives before the critical harvest or sowing window.

  2. 02

    Access on rural roads

We check access to the farm in advance, often on unpaved or narrow roads, and choose the right equipment.

  3. 03

    Domestic and international transport

We coordinate both domestic deliveries and the import or export of agricultural machinery to and from other European countries.

What we carry

What we carry for agriculture

Heavy agricultural machinery, from a single combine through to full batches for dealers.

Combines
Transport of high-capacity combines, domestic and international, on suitable trailers.
Tractors
Coordination for high-power tractors and the implements attached to them.
Irrigation equipment
Transport of irrigation equipment and systems for large farms.
Vegetable and fruit harvesters
Transport of specialist machinery for vegetable and fruit harvesting.
High-capacity agricultural trailers
Transport of large agricultural trailers and tankers.

The specific challenge

Seasonality: the biggest challenge in agriculture

Unlike other industries, in agriculture a delay of a few days can mean a lost harvest. We plan the transport of agricultural machinery with enough margin before the critical harvest or sowing dates given by the client.

For machinery dealers delivering to several farms at once, we coordinate synchronised transport batches, so that every end customer receives their machine on time.

Frequently asked questions

Agriculture: frequently asked questions

In agriculture the delivery window and farm access matter as much as the rate. Here is what you need to know.

Who handles the permits and the route survey for an abnormal load transport of agricultural machinery?

We handle the whole process: we obtain the abnormal load permits for every country on the route and run the route survey before departure. We check the dimensions, the mass restrictions and the sensitive points along the way in advance, and where relevant we also arrange the escort vehicles. The dedicated project manager coordinates the entire documentation, so that you do not have to deal with the paperwork.

What does the quote for moving an agricultural machine include and what drives the price?

The quote is a project price that includes the transport, the abnormal load permits, the route survey and, where necessary, the escorts and the CMR insurance. The price depends on the dimensions and the weight of the machine, on the distance, on the season and on access at the loading or unloading point. We tell you from the outset what is included, so no unexpected costs appear along the way.

What type of trailer is used to move a combine or a high-power tractor?

We choose the equipment according to the dimensions and the weight of the machine, from lowboy trailers and detachable gooseneck trailers through to extendable platforms for long pieces. For combines and high-power tractors we usually use low-deck trailers, which reduce the overall height and make loading easier. We coordinate this equipment through our network of verified partners.

Does the combine header have to be removed for road transport?

Most of the time yes, because a combine with the header fitted exceeds the width permitted on the road. In practice the header is removed and carried separately, and the combine either stays within the size limits or moves under the abnormal load regime. We agree from the outset, together with you, what is removed and how the machine is reassembled at destination.

How far ahead of the harvest should a combine transport be planned?

We recommend contacting us 2 to 3 weeks before the critical harvest or sowing window, to secure the availability of the right equipment and of the permits. In peak season the demand for transport rises, so planning ahead protects your deadlines. For urgent situations we look quickly for solutions through the partner network, so the machine arrives before the critical dates you have given us.

How is an agricultural machine loaded at a farm with no ramp or lifting equipment?

You do not need infrastructure of your own: we use detachable gooseneck or ramp trailers, which self-propelled machines can drive straight onto, and for heavy items we arrange lifting equipment where relevant. Before the transport we check access to the farm, including on unpaved or narrow rural roads, and agree the nearest safe loading point. We coordinate the delivery door-to-door, from the collection point through to the destination farm.
