How we operate in marine and shipbuilding

The transport partner for shipyards and port operators

Moving yachts, vessels or marine equipment involves a stage that standard industrial transport does not have: handling at the land-water interface, with port cranes or specialist ramps.

Through our extensive network of verified partners we coordinate the road transport and the marine handling, from the lift out of the water or the shipyard through to delivery at the final destination.

How we work

Why choose us for marine and shipbuilding

Three things that shape the rest of the project.

  1. 01

Specialist handling at the land-water interface

We coordinate lifting vessels in and out with port cranes or specialist equipment, through operators in our partner network.

  2. 02

    Road transport for vessels

We choose the trailer that suits the shape and the weight of each vessel, from yachts through to large marine components.

  3. 03

    Coordination with shipyards and ports

We align with the operating schedule of the shipyard or the port involved in the project, for an uninterrupted flow.

What we carry

What we carry for marine and shipbuilding

From yachts through to offshore equipment, with handling adapted to each type of vessel.

Yachts and vessels
Road transport on a specialist trailer, with handling at the lift out of the water or the yard.
Marine components
Transport of parts and equipment for shipyards, coordinated straight from the port.
Offshore equipment
Coordination for heavy equipment specific to the offshore industry.
Port cranes
Transport and relocation of cranes for terminals and port operators.
Floating dock structures
Transport of floating dock modules and temporary port structures.

The specific challenge

Coordinating marine handling with road transport

The most delicate stage of a marine transport is not the journey, but the moment the vessel is lifted out of the water or the yard and set on the trailer. We coordinate that stage with experienced port crane operators, through our partner network.

Once the vessel is secured on the trailer, the road transport follows the standard project cargo procedure: route survey, size permits where relevant, and delivery to the final destination, whether that is another shipyard or a private client.

Frequently asked questions

Marine and shipbuilding: frequently asked questions

Handling at the land-water interface is the most delicate part, and the journey follows the standard project cargo procedure. Here is what you need to know.

How is a yacht moved by road when it exceeds the permitted envelope?

Vessels whose width or height exceeds the legal limits travel as abnormal loads, on lowbed trailers shaped to the hull, with size permits and, where relevant, pilot vehicles. As a freight forwarder, we manage the route survey and obtain the necessary permits through our network of verified partners, so the yacht reaches its destination safely.

How much does it cost to move a yacht or a vessel and how do I get a quote?

The cost depends on the length, the width and the weight of the vessel, on the route, on the size permits and on the handling at the lift out of the water. Send us the dimensions of the vessel, the point of departure and the destination, and we will prepare a personalised project quote, with a dedicated project manager for every stage.

Do you deliver vessels and equipment straight to the port or the shipyard?

Yes, we coordinate door-to-door delivery, from the collection point through to the destination port or shipyard. We align with the operating schedule of the port or the yard and with crane availability, so that handing over the vessel or the equipment runs without interruption.

How quickly can a vessel or a piece of marine equipment be transported?

Once the order is confirmed, regional road transport generally takes a few days, while international routes or those requiring size permits and a combination with sea transport can take longer. The dedicated project manager gives you a realistic schedule along with the quote, taking the route survey and the permits into account.

Do you carry offshore modules and marine structures by combined road and sea?

Yes, we coordinate the transport of offshore modules, marine components and heavy structures through combined road-sea solutions, with port transit and loading onto barges or heavy-lift vessels where necessary. Through our partner network we integrate the abnormal load road leg with the port handling into a single flow, managed by one project manager.

How are vessels secured on the trailer and what insurance do you offer for high-value yachts?

Vessels are set on supports or a cradle shaped to the hull and secured with specific procedures, to avoid any damage during transport. For high-value yachts and equipment we provide CMR insurance included, adapted to the value of the cargo being carried.
